You may wonder what does a dragonfly have to do with speech therapy or children?  Here are my reasons:

Dragonflies have been around for 300 million years.

Dragonflies are among the fastest insects and some of the faster species can fly upward of 30 miles per hour!  Their four wings also allow them to move sideways, backward and to hover in place.  They can do all of these movements quickly and accurately which allows them  to eat other insects right out of the air.  This is just a cool factor!  I know that it is truly summer when the dragonflies zoom around the yard and eat insects and I LOVE SUMMER!  Eating and picking wild berries in the woods and in the yard with the kids, growing veggies in the garden in the part that wasn’t taken over by the horsetail.  Staying outside for most of the day and the part about not getting dark until 9pm or so.
